Ann Montgomery, M.Ed., CEP
Ann Montgomery specializes in guiding students and families through the college choice and application process. She attended Swarthmore College as an undergraduate and earned her Master of Education degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Houston. She also holds the Certificate in College Counseling from UCLA and has earned the Certified Educational Planner designation. A good portion of Ann's time is spent visiting college campuses in order to gain up-to-date understanding of the types of students who would thrive there. She also regularly attends and participates in professional conferences, particularly those of the Independent Educational Consultants Association, where she chairs the College Committee, and the National Association of College Admission Counseling, of which she is a member. Ann serves on the Credentialing Commission and the Executive Committee of the American Institute of Certified Educational Planners.
Ann delights in assisting students of all abilities to find colleges that are a good match for their interests, needs, and capacities. She enjoys speaking to groups of parents and students to expand their vision of college options and to allay their anxieties about the college application process. Ann is a member of the Advisory Board of YES Prep Public Schools, a charter school district in Houston that sends 100% of its graduates to college from families in which they are generally the first to obtain a postsecondary education. She also serves on the board of the Bridgeway Charitable Foundation.
